• Academic mobility in a higher year represents the transfer, reprise or resumption of studies in a higher year in order to continue the studies.
  • Mobility in Titu Maiorescu University (TMU) is made by applying the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Credits are recognized, equivalated and transferred based on the compatibility between our study programs (educational plan) with similar programs of Romanian universities or international universities (abroad Romania).
  • Titu Maiorescu University reserves the right to refuse recognition of studies completed in other higher education institutions or that do not apply the ECTS system.
  • For credit recognition, the following conditions must be met cumulatively:

the higher education institutions are accredited;

the study programs have the same qualification level in the European Qualification Framework (EQF);

the study programs are in the same fundamental field of study and the same cycle of higher education study;

the study programs have the same total number of mandatory transferable credits;

the study programs lead to similar competences/learning outcomes.

  • Transfer/re-enrollment can be made only at the beginning of the academic year, after the first semester and until the end of the penultimate semester.
  • Transfer/re-enrollment during the academic year (between the 2 semesters) is possible only for Romanian citizen candidates or foreign citizen candidates who have the right of residence in Romania at the time of submitting the transfer/re-enrollment request.
  • Eligibility conditions for the evaluation of transfer/re-registration files:

are not accepted files with studies interrupted more than 5 years ago on the date of submission of the file;

will be received/evaluated only the files of candidates with partial studies completed in EU states and third countries, which can be found  here, (APPENDIX 1 to Order no. 3223/2012, in all other EU states that are not found in this Annex, and the Republic of Moldova ).

  • The recognition and evaluation of studies is carried out by the Committee of Equivalation within the Faculty. The Committee of Equivalation decides which courses and credits can be equivalent, including credits in advance for superior years, as well as the year of study in which a candidate can be enrolled.
  • Admission with transfer/re-enrollment in a superior year is made within the limit of the number of available places for the respective year, without exceeding the number of student places. In case of a greater number of eligible candidates than the number of available places, admission will be made in descending order of the number of equivalent credits, from highest to lowest.
  • Priority for admission by re-enrollment in a superior year is given to former TMU students who had their studies suspended for various reasons.
  • The process of recognition and equivalence of studies complies with the following conditions:

for equivalence are taken into consideration only the study subjects for which the candidate has passed the exams in his/her university of origin; the list of equivalations and differences will include the credits recognized/equivalated in advance;

no more than 15 outstanding credits accumulated in the last two years of studies are accepted; the 15 outstanding credits are calculated according to the number of credits in the TMU curriculum;

the amount of transferable credits related to some disciplines that constitute differences cannot exceed 30 credits within the study cycle and 15 credits/ academic year. Optional subjects are not taken into account in this calculation.

  • The process of recognition and equivalence can have the following solutions, to which is added, as appropriate, the taking of differences exam for the study subjects that are found in the TMU curriculum but could not be equivalated according with the candidate’s transcript of records:

recognition of studies and recommendation for enrollment in the year of study requested by the candidate;

recognition of studies and recommendation for enrollment in a lower year of study than the one requested by the candidate if the number of equivalated credits is lower than the one required for enrollment in the year of study required by the candidate/ the year of study the candidate would have followed in his/her university of origin, in the situation where the candidate requests this upon registration;

non-recognition of previously completed studies and rejection for the files in which the sum of equivalated credits is insufficient for one year of study as related in the TMU curriculum.

  • TRANSFER/RE-ENROLLMENT IN THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE CURRENT UNIVERSITY YEAR

the end of the first semester of the current academic year and the beginning of the second semester (winter/intersemester break period, according to the structure of the respective academic year)

can apply only Romanian citizen candidates or foreign citizen candidates who have the right to stay on Romanian territory at the time of submitting the application for transfer/re-registration

the files of foreign candidates without residence in Romania submitted during this period will be analyzed until September 30 of the current academic year, and the admitted candidates will be transferred/re-enrolled in the following academic year

  • TRANSFER/RE-ENROLLMENT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE UNIVERSITY YEAR (first semester)

Registration is made in person, at the Secretariat of the Faculty. Documents and requests sent by email or post are not taken into consideration.

The registration file can be submitted by someone else in the student’s name, by proxy (power of attorney to represent the student).

International candidates or candidates coming from an international university (outside Romania) must have the file validated by the Department of International Relations before submitting the documents at the Secretariat of the Faculty.
