  • For TMU study programs can apply: Romanian citizens, citizens of EU member countries, EEA member countries, Switzerland and non-EU countries.
  • The citizenship of the candidates is given by the passport with which they apply.
  • Non-EU citizens can apply only with the passport.
  • EU citizens can apply with the passport or the identity card.

The admission conditions are the same for all candidates, regardless of citizenship or ethnicity.

  • Minimum condition for registration is the high school diploma issued by an accredited high school in the country of origin, whose diploma allows access to university studies in the same domain in the respective country and is recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education.
  • The high school requirements differ based on the issuing country of the diploma. Be sure to review the list with diplomas recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education here.
  • For the candidates that are non-EU citizens it is mandatory to present the final high school diploma.
  • Candidates, citizens of EU member countries, EEA member countries, Switzerland who have passed the high school graduation exam, but have not yet received their high school diploma, can register with an official high school graduation certificate, together with the final grades from the high school graduation exam.
  • Candidates cannot apply with predictive results. Candidates that have study documents only with provisional results in the final exam won’t be validated for admission and won’t be able to participate in the admission exam.
  • ATTENTION! When registering, the graduation certificate must be valid (if it has a date until it is valid, this date must not have passed).
  • Diplomas from countries that are members of the Hague Convention request a Hague Apostille from the authorities of the country that issued the document.
  • Diplomas issued in countries which are not party to the Hague Convention must be authenticated. There are two ways to do the authentication of the diploma:
  1. by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, the Romanian Embassy / Consular Office in that country and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairsor
  1. by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and its Embassy / Consular Office in Romania and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • For countries where there are no diplomatic missions of Romania or that do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the study documents will be authenticated with the stamp from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country.
  • Graduation certificates must also have the Hague apostille or authorization stamps on them (in the case of candidates that did not yet receive the high school diploma).

  • For the study programs in English, the candidates must present a language proficiency certificate of minimum B1 level, internationally recognized, issued by accredited institutions (universities, cultural centres, language centres, other accredited institutions).
  • For the study programs in Romanian the candidates must present a language proficiency certificate of minimum B1 level or the Diploma /Certificate of completion of a one-year preparatory course in Romanian language.
  • Certificates with limited validity must be valid at the beginning of the academic year in which the applicant is enrolled.
  • Exception from providing a language certificate for English/Romanian:
  • candidates that have completed at least four consecutive years of study in English/Romanian language;
  • citizens of countries where the official language is English.
  • All the candidates that have studied outside Romania must have their studies recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Education. Based on the recognition of studies from the Ministry of Education, the candidates can be enrolled as students in the university. This rule applies for all the universities or other educational institutions from Romania.
  • The documents necessary for recognition of high school studies at the Romanian Ministry of Education are included in the application file.
  • University will submit the documents for recognition at the Romanian Ministry of Education for all the admitted candidates.
  • For candidates citizens of European Union member countries, EEA countries and Swiss Confederation, studies are recognized by the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED), department of the Romanian Ministry of Education. Based on the evaluation of high school studies documents, CNRED will issue a certificate of recognition of studies.
  • For candidates citizens of non-EU countries, the high school studies are recognized by the General Department for International Relations and European Affairs, part of the Romanian Ministry of Education.  The Ministry will issue a letter of acceptance to studies, based on which candidates can be registered as students in the university and can obtain a long-term residence visa for studies. The letter of acceptance is valid only for the university for which it was issued, starting with the academic year for which it was issued and for the respective program of study and academic cycle.
  • Any change during the academic course for students citizens of non-EU countries, which contradicts the documents in the initial letter of acceptance to studies from the Ministry of Education, will be regulated at the Romanian Ministry of Education by the issuance of a new letter of acceptance, at the request of the university.
  • Failure to receive recognition from the Romanian Ministry of Education entails the loss of student status.
  • Application can be done online, on TMU admission portal.
  • The admission portal is opened only during the registration period for the chosen study program. You can check the registration periods here.
  • In the admission portal candidates make an account with a valid email address. The email address will be used by the secretariat and the International Relations Department for correspondence with the candidate. For effective communication, please also check the Spam/Junk box of the email address throughout the admission period.
  • Candidates are responsible for the contact details (email address, telephone number) provided to the university when applying and must ensure that the email addresses are valid so that the university does not encounter errors in electronic communication. The university does not assume responsibility for non-receipt of electronic messages by candidates.
  • The documents can be uploaded in .pdf or .jpeg format. The documents with several pages must be uploaded in one single PDF file.
  • Documents issued in other languages than Romanian, English or French require translation into one of the languages mentioned above, otherwise they are not eligible for evaluation.
  • The translated documents must have all the pages and be in the same order as in the original document received from the translator (translated pages + copy of the original translated document).
  • The application forms will be generated automatically by the portal, and can be signed digitally directly in the portal.
  • The portal has a correspondence section, where the candidate will receive information about his/her file and documents.
  • The admission portal closes at 4:00 PM (Bucharest time) on the last day of registration. After this date the admission portal will be blocked, and the candidate will not be able to make changes or upload documents.
  • Admission in Medicine and Dental Medicine is made based on an admission exam, consisting of a multiple-choice test with questions from Biology and a discipline of choice (Chemistry or Physics).
  • To participate in the admission exam, the application file must be completed and validated by the International Relations Department.
  • The lists with the distribution of the candidates by room are displayed at least 24 hours before the exam on the Admission 2024 website and on the campus where the exam is held.
  • The provisional list with admitted candidates will be displayed on the same day with the exam, on the Admission 2024 website and on the campus where the exam is held.
  • Appeals can be submitted within 24 hours of the provisional lists with admitted candidates being displayed. Appeals are submitted by mail at the Secretariat of the faculty.
  • Students admitted in the first year cannot change the study program. They can change the study program starting with the second year of study.
  • Students can change the study program only in the same field of study or from Medicine to Dental Medicine.
  • Currently, all TMU study programs start in the fall semester (on the 1st of October), regardless of the domain of study and the cycle of study.
  • Application fee for the study programs in English is 600 RON (Romanian currency, around 110 euro). The application fee can be paid online directly in the portal, after the file is pre-validated.
  • Incomplete files, for which the processing fee has been paid, are verified by the International Relations Department, but they will not be validated to participate in the admission exam in Medicine/Dental Medicine or for assessment for Preparatory Year for Romanian language.
  • Tuition fee varies according to the study program and the candidate’s citizenship. For information about the tuition fee, check our website for Admission 2024.
  • For non-EU citizens, the tuition fee must be paid in full for the first year of study. Starting with the second year of study, non-EU students can pay the tuition fee in four instalments, based on a request made to the Dean of the Faculty. This request must be made before the start of the academic year.
  • Romanian citizens, citizens of EU, EEA and Swiss Confederation can pay the tuition fee in 4 instalments.
  • Being a private institution, we do not offer scholarships, regardless of the citizenship or the ethnicity of the students.
  • For confirmation of place, the admitted candidates must pay the first instalment of the tuition fee or the tuition fee in full, depending on their citizenship.
  • For processing and submitting the files at the Romanian Ministry of Education for the recognition of international diplomas, the university charges a fee of 2500 RON (Romanian currency, around 500 euros).
  • Citizens of the European Union member countries, the EEA member countries and the Swiss Confederation do not need a visa to study in Romania.
  • Citizens of non-EU countries need a study visa, D-type, issued by the Romanian Embassy in the country of origin. The visa is issued based on the Letter of Acceptance to studies from the Romanian Ministry of Education and the student certificate issued by the secretariat of the faculty.
  • The proof of payment of the tuition fee in full for the first year of study is one of the necessary documents for obtaining the long-stay visa for study in Romania.
  • All students that are not Romanian citizens must notify the General Inspectorate of Immigration about their stay in Romania and apply for a residence permit in Romania.
  • International citizens can stay on Romanian territory up to 90 days without a residence permit. The application for residence permit must be made before the 90 days period ends.
  • TMU provides student accommodation in 2 modern dormitories, which are owned and directly managed by the university. The dormitories are located on Gheorghe Şincai Boulevard, no. 16, district 4, Bucharest.
  • The monthly rent varies between 180 – 240 Euro, depending on the type of room.
